A return to Hampshire is on the cards for LDR Performance Tuning’s Louie Capozzoli for Rounds 12, 13 & 14 for the 2021 Quaife MINI Challenge UK Trophy, as the fast-paced and high-speed Thruxton circuit sees the 18-year-old looking to continue his run of momentum in the standings over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Last time out at Croft, he was able to secure 66 points from both races, putting him fifth in the overall classification and third in the rookie standings, but there is a clear air of trepidation heading into this triple-header weekend, with the last two races on Sunday being broadcasted live on ITV4.

Earlier on in the season, the #199 driver would have his season severely impacted, because of a near season-ending incident in the very first race at Round 4 in late May.

However, LDR got a new car prepared within two weeks to get him back on the grid at Brands Hatch, which started a key shift in momentum this season.

I’m looking forward to getting another chance here at Thruxton, and it’s going to be key to score points here to keep pushing towards the Rookie title,” he said, hoping for a good turn of pace at the 2.356-mile track.

If I get a chance to go for a win, it’s a fitting place to do so as some of the Italian side of the family have also made it here to support me. Feelings are good ahead of the weekend, so I’ll keep pushing.”

The drivers will also get to be a part of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship support paddock this weekend, which also puts young drivers like Louie in the spotlight at the fastest track in the UK.
